• Hawaii Ignores Citizens and Moves Forward with Plan to “Destroy” Cats in Harbors

    The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources has refused to listen to citizens' overwhelming opposition to its proposal to grant itself the ability to “destroy” cats by “any means deemed necessary”.
    On September 8, the DLNR Board is holding a meeting to vote on their proposed amendments to the Hawaii Administrative Rules. The amendments would allow the DLNR to kill all cats-owned and unowned-in ports and small harbors across the state, as well as prevent caregivers from feeding community cats.
