    I've been a dog owner in the past. My last two dogs lived to be 16-years-old.
    My last dog, Bixie girl, passed away seven years ago. I put off my decision to get another dog for a long time. I was really beginning to miss having a dog in my life and felt I was ready for another possible 16 year commitment. I looked online at Animal Humane Society for a puppy.
