    Adopting an 8-year-old dog: Our sweet boy Hunter was adopted in March of 2020 at the start of the pandemic. My boyfriend and I had been together for four years and had talked endlessly about getting a dog since we had moved into a home together. We were on vacation when we saw that Animal Humane Society would be closing its doors for a month due to Covid. The day we got back from vacation, we went to three different Animal Humane Society locations.     We adopted Luna who was named Dion in April 2019. She was so shy, not socialized, and as a 1-year-old really scared of everything, especially people. She hid most of the time. Now, she is such a delight for us to have around, cuddles with us, and loves our cats too. This year we adopted another pup and she is so happy and playful.     We came to donate meds when our 20-year-old passed with plans to not adopt for at least a year. We were curious and wanted to “see” the abandoned 2-year-old Bengal named Summer. There was no missing that vocal little girl when we walked in. We fell in love and went back the following day to take her to her
    FOREVER home. For 12 years she was the best little girl who brought joy to our household every day. We promised we would never abandon her and we never did.
