    The birding world has been debating whether honorific common bird names ( e.g. , Clark's Nutcracker or Baird's Sandpiper ) should be changed. The broad arguments are that many of the namesakes have associations with views that are now unacceptable or that the time for honorific names has passed, if it ever existed.
